The founder of our business outfitting company was Mike Smith, a 30-year veteran of the corporate clothing and workwear industry, and is lead today by his son Paul, who like his father has driven the company forward true to the vision and values that were set out at it’s inception.

Corprotex Managing Director Paul Smith joined the corporate clothing industry in 2004 on the completion of a Law & Business Studies Degree, whereupon he took his passion for the garment manufacturing industry and put it to good effect. He was elevated to the role of MD of Corprotex Apparel five years later in 2009 and has since that time proudly continued to grow and develop both the business, its offering and the people around him.

Married and a father of four children Paul, although now retired from the sport, used to be a keen rugby player and still keeps active with activities such as sailing and skiing.

Over the years Paul has handled major accounts on both a national and a global scale and has supplied promotional workwear and corporate clothing for more than 250,000 staff.

Built on strong relationships with suppliers and customers he has justifiably gained a well regarded and respected reputation amongst his competitors and industry peers alike. These strong relationships have helped him guide Corprotex through the recessionary periods of the last few years where others have fallen by the wayside. And despite these periods of economic uncertainty Paul has been able to put his solid understanding of business and economics to great effect by adapting to the market and reinvesting when the time was right.

Being one who firmly believes in continual improvement and staying ahead of the game, he always seeks to keep up-to-date with all aspects of the corporate clothing industry, whether it be raw material indexes, country of origin politics and foreign trade initiatives. He regularly travels throughout Europe and the Far East to visit new and existing suppliers, not only to develop business critical relationships but also to study new technologies, fabrics performance, design and order management systems.

Corprotex Business Development Manager, James McKinlay joined us at the beginning of 2016 at a new and exciting phase in the growth and development of our business.

Prior to joining our team to provide a strong and senior presence in the Midlands, Wales, the South and East of England, together with helping to redefine Corprotex and our own presence and position within the industry, Loughborough based James has spent nearly 20 years in and around the B2B clothing industry working with many businesses from independent SME’s through to large scale Blue Chip organisations.

With 10 years spent as National Sales Account Manager at a Nottingham based bespoke clothing & merchandise company, 4 years as Account Manager for a Leeds based promotional clothing & merchandise company and originally 4 years as an external Sales Representative for a garment manufacturer supplying printers and embroidery businesses, James brings a wealth of industry experience with him together with a strong understanding of successful branding and the importance of maintaining brand identity through successful and quality driven clothing and uniform solutions.

Centrally based at our satellite Sales office just outside Nottingham James prides himself on his ability to quickly and effectively identify the key requirements of your brief and he’ll ensure that you receive a uniform solution that specifically suits your needs.
